The only problem is the lack of Garritan real music instrument files for playback which is what makes this program really take off. But if you are just looking for a way to input music notes for printing (without the ability to hear the "real" instruments which is what made this program famous) than it is a good program. Even without the Garritan instruments though, you can hear some kind of playback as the program will default to Windows built in midi playback capabilities. Just remember that the Windows sound samples are the ones they purchased the rights to from Yamaha in 1995 and have continued to throw in to all versions of Windows so you could get some form of midi playback. But Window's 18 year old sound samples weren't even considered better than just alright when they started using them. So you will hear something when you play back your masterpiece but it won't sound anything like the final real orchestra. But if you are just using it to print music out on paper to hand out to musicians you will have a very general idea of what to expect. Great download.
